Specialist training
Our specialist 5-day in-person training package for provider organisations and health systems is built to deliver immediate return on investment. Covering UEC, Elective, and/or Cancer care, our programmes teach participants technical information, specialist care pathway knowledge, principles of change, and improvement techniques.
Delivering change through training
The five-day course is delivered over a three to five-month period, with 3-4 weeks between each training day. The programme blends classroom, self-directed, and experiential learning. During the course, all participants will complete an improvement project, applying their new skills and learning to current challenges in their work lives. Immediately applying learning to real-life situations is the best way to embed learning and deliver a return on investment by the end of the training course.

Day 1
Specialist Training
The day will focus on core knowledge, technical rules and definitions and area fundamentals including breach validation and structured problem solving.
Day 2
Understanding the problem
The key to successful change and improvement is working on the right problem, in the right way. This day will teach participants new skills in problem definition, followed by planning their improvement projects
Day 3
Measuring the challenge
Once the right problem area has been identified, the next step is understanding how the current process works. This day will teach the groups how to fully measure and quantify their problem, including developing an initial understanding of the potential benefits.
Day 4
Issue analysis and root causes
Now that the current process is understood, the next step is to understand the root causes of the problem itself. This day will teach participants the skills of process understanding and full root cause analysis to identify the exact problems to focus on.
Day 5
Delivering sustainable improvement
At this stage, all the teams will have a clear understanding of their problem and its specific causes. This day will teach the groups how to implement high-impact changes using a fast and scalable approach to testing and learning. This session will also focus on teaching the teams how to measure, understand and improve the long-term success of their project.
